*When did you really get involved into music in general and into metal specific? Who was responsable for your interest in (metal) music?
I started to sing in very early age in a children´s choir and then the school choir and since 11 years old in 1982 my dream was to be a rock singer. When I was 8 years in 1979 my five year older cousin introduced me to The Sweet and later on Rainbow and still today Brian Connolly & Ronnie James Dio are two major vocal influences for me.
*Which artists or bands did influence you the most?
The Sweet, Dio, Rainbow, Stryper, Iron Maiden, Yngwie Malmsteen´s Rising Force & Europe
*Which instrument do you play and how and when did you learn to play?
I am focused as lead vocalist then I play a little keyboards that I use when I write songs but never in public. I am a lead vocalist. I took lessons in my teens but always working on my song technique nearly everyday.
*Did you had lessons in school or private lessons?
I took lessons in my music school.
*If so, was that because your parents expected that from you?
No it was me personally who wanted to become a better vocalist even if my father is a good singer.
*Or did you learn to play the instrument(s) by yourself?
I learned to sing in the right way when I was a member in several choirs.
*Do yo still follow some lessons?
I still do some technique excercises.
*Do you follow other or are you intrested in other styles of music beside metal? If so, what is the kind of music you prefer to listen to?
I listen alot to different music – pop music, gospel music, symphonic and classic music and symphonic pomp rock.
*Is music a full time job for you now or do you have a job beside music?
I did music fulltime for many years but since 2014 I work as jobcoach.
*If so, what kind of job are you doing?
My work is to help unemployed people to the next job and education.
*If you would be really succesful with music, would you quit your other job?
No I like the mix and it inspire me on both sides,
*If you had been banned to an uninhabited island and you may pick 5 albums to listen to, wich albums would you choose and why?
Rainbow – ‘Rising’, The Sweet – ‘Strung Up’, Stryper – ‘To Hell With The Devil’, John Miles – ‘Rebel’, Yngwie Malmsteen´s Rising Force – Self titled. These albums are unique and different styles of music I love so I can listent these albums for a long time.
*You do know each other already for years. Why did it took that long to get together to form a band?
We were occupied with different things and now the timing was right and all was ready to give their talent and time into this band.
*Every new album of a band or an artist is the best one, so they say. – We do know ‘Flames Of Fire’ is the first studio-album for FLAMES OF FIRE. – So here is a chance to promote you album. Why should a music lover buy your album? What are the standout tracks for you on this new album and why?
If you love classic hard rock / heavy metal with great melodies and riffs in the vein of Dio, Iron Maiden, Pretty Maids and early Europe with a twist FLAMES OF FIRE will be your new favorite band.

*Is there a chance that you will promote these songs through live concerts? If so, would you prefer small clubs or big festivals? And is there a chance we can see FLAMES OF FIRE in Belgium?
Of course we will bring FLAMES OF FIRE live and we are planning concerts 2022/2023 both clubs and festivals and of course we will come to Belgium!
