Brisbane symphonic metal act Seraphic have shared the first taste of their forthcoming sophomore album, with their driving new single The Phoenix.
Combining the sonic colour of the likes of Epica and Nightwish with the power of Firewind, The Phoenix is a major statement from a band with the intent of taking the Australian metal community by the throat.
The empowering anthem was the obvious choice for the band’s first single for their forthcoming record Chrysalis. Bold, passionate and defiant, The Phoenix tells the tale of how the band emerged from the flames after overcoming many obstacles, both personal and professional, to create what is their most ambitious, compelling and meaningful studio release yet.
Speaking about the track front-woman Sam Wolstenholme states: “The Phoenix” is a fervent and profound track that is for anyone who has recovered from a broken heart, and risen from the pain and turmoil with a renewed sense of self, ready to fight back and reclaim their lives.”
To truly bring their vision to life, Seraphic collaborated with the masterful Visul team to create a stunning visual representation of the phoenix rising from the ashes, confident, strong and reborn. The team worked tirelessly to locate picturesque Sunshine Coast Hinterland settings for the shoot, craft a powerful narrative to illustrate the symbolic death and rebirth of the phoenix, to producing a film that is as beautiful, fiery and unforgettable as its namesake.
The song is the lead single from Chrysalis, the forthcoming highly personal LP from the band.
The 9-track epic immerses the listener in a rich and colourful soundscape that musically embodies a deep metamorphosis of the soul.
The album was recorded off the back of an incredible 2019 for the band, which saw them share the stage with power metal legends Turilli/Leone Rhapsody, in addition to landmark sets at Progfest Brisbane and headlining appearances in Brisbane and Melbourne to raise funds for Share the Dignity.
